Zele Company’s design philosophy stems from the belief that furnishings significantly impact our daily life, and therefore great attention should be given to selecting the objects that surround us. We are vehemently opposed to throw-away culture, and interpret “living green” as the acquisition of furniture with the intention of owning it and using it for a lifetime. Our goal is to create designs that transcend the cycle of fashion. We build with solid hardwoods, stainless steel and leather, focusing on each material’s inherent beauty and extreme durability. All of our hardwood suppliers meet or exceed E.P.A. exotic hardwood regulations.

Part of our current line of furniture is designed around the innovative use of an age-old technique for joining metal and wood. A piece of solid hardwood is inserted into a stainless steel sleeve, similar to the design of a classical hammer. The superior strength and durability of this kind of joint allows for an overall lightness and elegance of line that is impossible to achieve in any other way. This exemplifies the way our designers draw on the past but look to the future, linking a deep respect for classical proportion with a modernist sensibility, looking always to  achieve the perfect union of classical modern.
